Overview

The climber has been working well with the added skids to prevent tipping, the new long-reach hook, and some programing improvements to help with the ascent phase. Although, as is evident in the video, the drivers are still getting used to the controls and climbing process.

This year's competition...

Destination Deep Space

On the long awaited kickoff meeting on January 5th, 2019, the new challenge for this year's build season was announced: Deep Space! Set on the far away Planet Primus, each alliance of robots must gather as many cargo pods as possible and load the spacecraft before a sandstorm arrives.
In just 2 minutes and 30 seconds, teams must first autonomously load cargo pods for the first 15 seconds after which the human players take control of the robots. The alliance with the highest score wins! Catch us March 2-3 at our first event, the Haymarket District Qualifier!

Build Season: Week 5

As build season rages on, our team members are assembling the gearbox. This complicated component is essential to the maneuverability of our robot.

CNC Machining

Here, our team is using the CNC mill to manufacture metal brackets for the robot arm.

CAD

Our team is designing the robot arm and cargo intake in CAD.

Safety First!

Our members are taking safety quizzes to become certified to operate certain machinery.

The Move to the Academies

We are excited to announce that for the 2018-2019 school year we have moved to Academies of Loudoun building in Leesburg, Virginia. With the new members, perspectives, and resources from the Academy of Science, Academy of Engineering and Technology, and Monroe Advanced Technical Academy, RoboLoCo is prepared to tackle the season at full speed!

Thank you to our sponsors for helping us make our journey possible!
